Benjamin Sewell Statement



Born: Esperance, Western Australia 1972.

Education: Bachelor of Visual Arts, Curtin University Western Australia 1996. Further studies, Diploma of Visual Arts 1997, and Graduate Diploma at the National Institute of the Arts 1999, Australian National University, Canberra.

Benjamin is a recipient of a number of awards including the prestigious City of Perth Craft Award for Excellence in 2002 and the Tom Malone Prize, Art Gallery of Western Australia in 2006.

He has had highly successful solo shows at Chappell Gallery New York and at Sabbia Gallery Sydney. Benjamin has also taught at Universities in Sydney and Melbourne and is represented in galleries across Australia and Overseas, with his work featured in Public and Private collections across the World.
